Gratuitous Federation & Empire

 I am Haashaastaak, graduate of the Gorn Confederation Academy in the group with highest praise. Assigned to the newly constructed Battle Destroyer Bonecrusher as First Officer, I arrive with other reinforcements for the 2nd Fleet at the junction of our territory with Federation space and that of our longstanding enemies, the Romulans. Alarmed by the Romans' destruction of a second Federation Starbse, the Gorn Confederation declares war on the Romulans and the Second Fleet moves on a strategically-located Romulan Battle Station. In the first engagement, our fleet's Light Cruiser squadron bears the brunt of enemy fire, with all three of our vessels crippled. They do, though, wipe out the fighters from the Battle Station, degrading Romulan defences significantly. Our squadron acquires itself well, crippling a Scout vessel in return for one of our own crippled. Our fleet warps out to get ready for a second attempt.  Report on the state of play after the Coalition turn for Spring Y174. The Kzinti still hold nothing of their original territories outside the capital hex and its immediate environs, apart from an enclave remaining in the Marquis' area. All remains relatively quiet in Hydran space. The Coalition lacks the strength ere to press the Hydrans further back to the Old Colonies, while the little guys slowly repair their crippled fleets and build a new shipyard off map. Not much has changed on the Federation-Klingon Front. The Klingons, though, are steadily building for a push on Starbase Three, which is beneath a large stack of crippled ships. Serious action has been taking place on the Roman Front. The Federation has lost two Starbases here in addition to numerous Battle Stations, but the cost to the Romulans has been tremendous - look at all those crippled ships.
