I am Haashaastaak, graduate of the Gorn Confederation Academy in the group with highest praise. Assigned to the newly constructed Battle Destroyer Bonecrusher as First Officer, I arrive with other reinforcements for the 2nd Fleet at the junction of our territory with Federation space and that of our longstanding enemies, the Romulans. Alarmed by the Romans' destruction of a second Federation Starbse, the Gorn Confederation declares war on the Romulans and the Second Fleet moves on a strategically-located Romulan Battle Station.
In the first engagement, our fleet's Light Cruiser squadron bears the brunt of enemy fire, with all three of our vessels crippled. They do, though, wipe out the fighters from the Battle Station, degrading Romulan defences significantly. Our squadron acquires itself well, crippling a Scout vessel in return for one of our own crippled. Our fleet warps out to get ready for a second attempt.
Analyzing the vidfeeds afterwards, it becomes apparent that not only is the Romulan life in this sector relatively small, they are using small Police flagships as Scouts. It would appear that we are in a good position to destroy their installation.

On the second attempt, however, the placement of our Battle Destroyer squadron relative to the enemy is rather unfortunate. We are well off to the port side of the main fleet, acting as a sort of picket force, while the remainder of our ships are concentrated for the assault. The Romulans have a had a similar thought, and most of their fleet is facing our main group. Facing us, though, is a motley group comprising another of these little Police scout flagships, along with a Firehawk new generation Heavy Cruiser and an Eagle generation Falcon Mauler. The rather messy configuration of the Romulans suggests that they are feeling the pich, and this is confirmed by a quick count of their ships - they have had no reinforcements for this second battle, and our fleet scout reports no other enemy hulls in reserve. I suspect that we will fail to drive off the Romulan vessels on this occasion, but we should do enough damage to render any continued defence of their station impossible, especially since we still have quite a few ships in reserve. Superiority in numbers should win us this campaign.
All of my suppositions are proven correct. The Romulans fight valiantly as always, even managing to cripple our fleet flagship, an earlier Dreadnought design. Our squadron is up against it, and the enemy Firehawk cripples the
Bonecrusher, killing my Captain in the process. Their Mauler vaporizes our other Battle Destroyer. In return, we cripple the Police ship despite its electronic warfare superiority. Our fleet retreats, having mangled quite few of the enemy in return for the same. The Romulans evacuate their station before scuttling it. The
Bonecrusher retires to the rear for repairs, and I am promoted to Captain.
